Retirement proved dull, uneventful and boring. While I no longer wanted the stress and pressures of engineering and project management, I was not ready for retirement. Fortunately, wife Beverly invited me to join her as a Realtor. She proved an effective and patient mentor. After several years in the business, she decided to retire. However, I was addicted with the satisfaction of helping folks find a suitable home or disposing of a property that no longer fit their needs. I initially obtained his license in 1996 and being a Realtor has proved to be satisifying and fullfilling.
Especially rewarding is working with incoming or outgoing families being relocated. These are complex transactions that must satisfy strict IRS rules to avoid tax liabilities to either or both the tansferee and the company with which the customer is employed. Having been relocated several times, I recognizes the anxieties and challanges families face and the many questions that must be answered.
In additions to Real Estate my pastimes include bicycling, hiking, downhill skiing, working on the family Real Estate holdings and reading. I active in Rotary International.
I am a native of the State of Maine and worked in the family grocery store during my high school years, earned two engineering degrees from the University of Maine and held engineering positions in the States of Maine, New York, Michigan and Oregon. I have held professional engineering licenses in the States of Maine, New York and Oregon.
I was employed by NCASI, a firm solely supported by the Pulp and Paper and Forest Product Industries. My expertise was in the fields of emission control, effluent dischage reduction and treatment, and chemical management. I was relocated to Corvallis in 1969 to manage that company's west coast operations and retired in 1996.
