CARRELL “GATOR” ALDEN, Broker has been involved with real estate since his retirement from Wah Chang, a rare metals fabrication company, in January of 2001. He is gregarious and enjoys people. He is able to put clients at ease so they have a good time while looking for that perfect piece of property or getting their property marketed. He's ready to swap tall tales with you all the while diligently meeting your real estate needs.
He has lived in the area for over 30 years. Born in Hattiesburg Mississippi, at 3 months of age, his family moved to Baton Rouge where he graduated from high school. He hoped to play football for his beloved Louisianna State University Tigers but was given some good, although disheartening, advice from his coach: “You’re too small and not fast enough, you’re going to get hurt.” He joined the Navy Air Force where he was part of a crew who flew reconnaissance over Viet Nam, before it was declared a war, until his plane got shot up and he was returned to the states. He went back to college in Arizona and finally ended up in Oregon. Although, he loved the South when he was there, he wouldn’t give up Oregon for anything now. That doesn’t mean he has lost his love for “Southern” things and sometimes wonders if he wasn’t meant to be a teacher of the Civil War history.
To take a look at him and his blue eyes, you would never believe he had some Native American and Irish heritage but he does. And his nickname Gator? Well, that's another story! Years ago when Carrell was young and bullet proof, he and fellow adventurers were hunting in the Louisiana swamps when they came upon a young alligator and cajoled each other until a coin toss (to this day he’s not sure if he won or loss) put Carrell in the middle of a wrestling match with the alligator. In very short order, both Carrell and the gator were ready to call it quits and go their own way which they did at the first lull in the action.
As you can tell, he likes to laugh and poke fun because he doesn’t ever want to take himself seriously but he does take his real estate business and his clients seriously and that includes providing his clients with the professional service they deserve.
Much of his business is from referrals. He does that by refusing to do things to people that he doesn’t like done to him. For instance, he won’t manipulate clients by using sales techniques such as asking “if we did such and such, would you buy it?” You don’t need to be handled and he won’t try to handle you. He wants to help you find that perfect piece of property to buy or help you to sell your property by looking at things through your eyes.
Here are a couple of comments from satisfied clients:
“Gator was by far the hardest working, dedicated and sincerely honest realtor we have ever known…and we know some really good ones! We would recommend Gator to anyone.”
“Gator is the reason that we bought the house we did. He was an excellent help. He was the reason we had a good experience.”
He’s looking forward to hearing from you. Call him at 541-401-3646.
