- Oregon Coast
Many of the 29 million people who visit Oregon each year are drawn by the dramatic beauty of the state's Pacific shoreline. Fortunately, Albany and Corvallis are no more than an hour away from the iconic Oregon Coast. Centrally-located Lincoln City and Depoe Bay are frequently found on lists of the most scenic coastal towns. With charming shops, historic boardwalks, whale-watching, first-class restaurants, fishing, and hiking, there's never a dull moment. Even stormy days provide some spectacular natural views.

- Albany Historic Carousel & Museum - 503 First Ave. W., Albany, OR 97321
Carousels have been a staple at fairs and carnivals. Albany Historic Carousel & Museum continues this tradition by creating the "finest carousel in the world." After painstakingly restoring a 1909 carousel mechanism over a period of 10 years, the museum began adding the menagerie of animals, which will eventually total 52. Watch the process in the painting and carving studios inside the museum. Admission is free, and carousel rides are only $2. Hours are 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
- Talking Water Gardens - 577 Waverly Dr. NE, Albany, OR 87321
Taking its name from the sound made by a cascading waterfall, Talking Water Gardens offers a fascinating look at how modern processes can still be environmentally friendly. The engineered water treatment wetland uses natural cleansing and cooling to safely return treated water to the Willamette River. More than two miles of pet-friendly trails allow an up-close view of the process, along with opportunities to spot birds, small mammals, reptiles, and other wildlife that make their home in this habitat.
