Beginning at 4 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month, the abundant creativity around Corvallis and Albany is on display as the Corvallis Arts Walk shines a spotlight on the talented artists in our community. Our real estate agents love to visit these participating galleries during the event or at any time of year.
- The Arts Center - 700 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis, OR 97333
Founded in the 1960s, The Arts Center was a groundbreaking initiative. Under its original name of the Corvallis Arts Council, the Center was the first community-based arts organization in Oregon. In addition to showing and showcasing art, the Center conducts events such as 2nd Saturday Arts Day, when the public is invited to participate in an arts-and-crafts activity. Gallery and shop hours are noon - 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
- Art in the Valley Gallery - 209 SW 2nd St., Corvallis, OR 97333
Art in the Valley Gallery is a cooperative formed and operated by artists around Corvallis and Albany. Featured works are in a wide variety of media, including paintings, photographs, pottery, and glassware. The gallery is also known for having an incredible assortment of greeting cards. A different artist is showcased each month, with a reception held in their honor during Arts Walk. Hours are 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday.
- Terra Viva Gallery - 354 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis, OR 97333
After earning a degree in Ceramic Arts and Sculpture from the Art Institute of Ukraine, Anna Russell moved to Oregon and opened Terra Viva Gallery. While Anna still does occasional ceramic pieces, primarily vases and other home decor items, her focus has turned to jewelry. All the earrings, necklaces, and rings in the gallery are original designs made by hand. Nurture your own creativity at one of Anna's jewelry-making workshops, where you mount a semi-precious stone into your choice of ring, earrings, or pendant. Terra Viva is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Truckenbrod Gallery - 517 SW 2nd St., Corvallis, OR 97333
Explore the latest innovations in contemporary art at Truckenbrod Gallery. Curator Joan Truckenbrod is noted for her work in using art to bridge nature and technology, such as in her video sculptures. Joan's pieces have been exhibited around the world, and some of her works can be found in collections at the Whitney Museum of American Art, among others. During Arts Walk, the featured artist at Truckenbrod offers fascinating insights into their work in Gallery Talks. Hours are 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
- RemarkableArts - 460 SW Madison Ave. #16, Corvallis, OR 97333
There's no end to the creative output at the appropriately-named RemarkableArts. Professional and personal partners Adrienne Fritze and Mark van der Pol founded the gallery as an outlet for their varied interests and talents. The shop also hosts events such as murder mysteries and displays photos and artwork by Adrienne and Mark. Hours are noon - 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
