Downtown Corvallis

At a time when many downtown areas are declining due to the appeal of the suburbs, Corvallis and Albany are bucking the trend. Both cities have received awards for successful revitalization of their downtown areas

  • The Majestic Theatre - 115 SW 2nd St., Corvallis, OR 97330
    Movies thrill with their larger-than-life images, but the intimacy of live theatre creates a special type of energy. The Majestic Theatre, which celebrates its 109th anniversary this year, started out as a vaudeville house.   • Corvallis Fall Festival - Central Park, 650 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis, OR 97333
    Who says outdoor festivals are just for summer? Corvallis Fall Festival keeps the fun going while the leaves are dropping. Beautiful Central Park, with its proximity to downtown and the Oregon State University Campus, has been the festival's home since its inception in 1973. The Art Discovery Zone, where families can create their own masterpieces, makes a welcome return in 2022. Other activities include live music, a 1K/5K/10K run, and the newest event, Story Walk. Bring your appetite and support the food vendors, who team up with local charities. This year's festival takes place 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday, September 24 and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday, September 25.

  • Escape Corvallis - 301 SW 4th St., Suite 280, Corvallis, OR 97333
    Crosswords and sudoku are so last century. Modern puzzle lovers challenge their problem-solving skills at Escape Corvallis. Choose from four themed escape rooms with varying levels of difficulty to fit both novices and experts. Due to popular demand, Escape Corvallis has added a kids' room for ages 6-10. Once the puzzle is solved, participants "escape" into a game-filled room that's perfect for a birthday party or just hanging out.   • The Arts Center - 700 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis, OR 97333
    In 1963, the Corvallis Arts Council became the first community-based arts organization in Oregon. Fast-forward to 2008, when they changed their name to The Arts Center, representing the goal of promoting inclusivity for anyone seeking a connection to art. In addition to exhibits of art in all forms, the center features artist meet-ups on the first Thursday of each month and Arts Day for kids and adults on the second Saturday of each month. Hours are noon - 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and admission is free, though donations are welcome.
